Virender K. Singhal, MD, DA, LRCP (London), MRCS (England), FRCS (Edinburgh), FACS, FAAP, MBA (Healthcare)
Dr. Singhal is a board-certified plastic surgeon with extensive experience in pediatric plastic, craniofacial and reconstructive surgery. Born and educated in New Delhi, India, he completed medical and postgraduate training in anesthesiology before pursuing surgical training in England, where he earned Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
After moving to the United States in 1986, Dr. Singhal completed residencies in general surgery and plastic surgery, followed by fellowship training in pediatric plastic and craniofacial surgery. He has practiced in the Kansas City area since 1995.
Dr. Singhal previously served as Program Director and Chief of Plastic Surgery at the University of Missouri–Kansas City and Truman Medical Center. He later joined Children’s Mercy Hospital, where he helped develop its pediatric plastic and craniofacial surgery program and served as Chief of Pediatric Plastic Surgery from 1998 to 2011.
Throughout his career, Dr. Singhal has treated children with craniosynostosis, cleft lip and palate, velopharyngeal insufficiency, micrognathia and other complex craniofacial conditions. His experience includes more than 500 intracranial craniosynostosis procedures and thousands of cleft-related surgeries.
A professor and longtime medical educator, Dr. Singhal has trained residents, fellows and medical students while contributing to surgical education and clinical research. He has also participated in more than 30 international medical missions and has lectured and operated throughout Asia, Africa and Latin America.
